Rumors surfaced lately that Andrey Kirilenko appeared at the training camp of the Russian National Team and that the player would take part in the Eurobasket afterall.
Russia' Head Coach, David Blatt however, set things straight. "We talked with Kirilenko and he explained why he wants a summer off. It was a nice talk and I understand his decision. He's got our support 100%. Andrey will return to the NT whenever he wants to" said Blatt.
In Kirilenko's place and due to the absense of JR Holden, another American will take part in the preparation of the Russian NT, namely Kelly McCarty, as it was expected.
