Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders have signed Coventry-born Andrew Bennett to their squad for the forthcoming BBL campaign.
The 6’10” centre has just finished his collegiate career at North Georgia University, where he averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds per game last season.
Coach Paternostro commented “Andrew is very strong and very athletic and has shown the ability to be effective in the paint on both ends of the floor.”
“When looking at his college career it is a credit to him that he has got better every year.”
“Andrew has a range of skills and a ton of potential. I am looking forward to helping him develop as a professional. He fits in very well to the roster we have assembled, it’s a great opportunity for him to begin his career.”
It’s great for our club and our league to have an English player and potential GB player for 2012 like Andrew signed, we are very excited to be working with him this season” Paternostro added.
