Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski will miss the team’s season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers due to back soreness.

The 23-year-old was initially listed as questionable after missing the Warriors’ final three days of practice because of the injury. However, he has now been ruled out for the opening game.

Podziemski’s absence comes after he appeared in all 82 regular-season games for Golden State last season, demonstrating his durability throughout the campaign.

The young guard also recently secured his long-term future with the franchise, agreeing to a five-year, $110 million contract extension during the offseason.
