The Dallas Mavericks point forward Luka Doncic is not worried about the Rookie of the Year award.
“Obviously, I want to win, but honestly I don’t care. I’m going to go home and I’m going to turn off all my social networks. Nobody will find me,” Doncic said, per Eurohoops.
The 20-year-old has become the first player to win the Rookie of the Month award for every month since Timberwolves’ Karl-Anthony Towns in 2015-16.
“Obviously, I didn’t expect to play so well. But I knew I could play here and I watched a lot of NBA when I was in Europe,” (Ibid.)
This season, Doncic averaged 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.2 minutes of action, while shooting at 42.7 percent from the floor including 32.7 from deep.
