A 25-11 run in the second quarter helped Olympiacos triumph over Panathinaikos in the Greek “Clasico” (79-65).

The “Reds” played very well on both ends of the floor and closed the first half in front by 16 (41-25). Things didn’t change much in the third quarter and the hosts extended their lead to 19 points (59-40).

Even though the “Greens” attempted to turn things around (65-52), Olympiacos retained their double-digit lead (73-52) and cruised to a dominant victory, as they now have the tie-breaker over their arch-rivals.

Nikola Milutinov made a monstrous double-double for the winners (18 points, 18 rebounds, 41 in PIR), with Janis Strelnieks adding 18 points as well.

Nick Calathes (13 points, seven assists) and Lukas Lekavicius (10 points) were the only players that scored in double figures for the losing squad.

Olympiacos improved to 10-6, whereas Panathinaikos dropped to 7-9.
