The Boston Celtics (23-15) beat the Dallas Mavericks (18-20) at home 114:93 (34:23, 24:28, 26:17, 30:25).

Jaylen Brown was the top scorer for the Celtics with 21 points (on 9/15 shooting), Jayson Tatum added 18 points and six rebounds.

Marcus Smart posted 17 points, Gordon Hayward came off the bench to contribute 16 points, 11 boards and eight assists.

Kyrie Irving missed his second straight game due to inflammation in his left eye. Five Celtics finished in double digits. Boston made 21 on 45 three-point attempts.

On the other hand, Harrison Barnes led the Mavericks with 20 points (on 6/12 shooting), Luka Doncic added 19 points (on 7/16 shooting), nine rebounds and four assists, DeAndre Jordan poured in 12 points, 15 rebounds and two blocks, Wesley Matthews managed 11 points.

Despite being scoreless, Dirk Nowitzki received a standing ovation from the Celtics’ fans. The crowd chanted “Dirk, Dirk!” in the final minute, forcing him to shoot.

The Dallas Mavericks made 11 on 44 three-point attempts.
