Vincent Poirier made a two-pointer, with 11 seconds to go, and Baskonia escaped from Tel-Aviv with a big win over Maccabi (79-81).

Baskonia made a come-back from a double-digit deficit (55-45) and were in front by three in the last part of the contest (76-79).

Maccabi tied the game (79-79), but Poirier made the dunk and gave his team a big win on the road.

The visitors played better in the first quarter (17-22), but the hosts turned things around and took a double-digit lead (55-45). The Basques came back, though, and defeated the Israelis in a late thriller.

Tornike Shengelia and Matt Janning led the winners, with 20 and 16 points, respectively, with Poirier posting a double-double (12 points, 12 rebounds).

DeAndre Kane and Scottie Wilbekin scored 13 points apiece for the losing squad, as Johnny O’Bryant added 12.
