Zalgiris Kaunas made an excellent performance in the second half and turned things around to beat Olympiacos at home (83-75).
Marius Grigonis had a game-high 19 points for the winners, with Nate Wolters posting 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
On the other hand, Giorgos Printezis had 18 points for the losing squad, as Zach LeDay contributed 14 points and Vassilis Spanoulis nine (along with eight assists).
The Greeks played very well on both ends of the floor and took control of the game from the opening tip (19-29). Things didn’t change much later and the visitors ended the first half in front by eight (40-48).
In the second half, the Lithuanians were unstoppable. Not only did they score easy baskets, but played very tough defensively and forced the “Reds” to 15 turnovers. Consequently, they outscored them 43-27 in the second half to win the game (83-75).
This was the fifth win in the season for Zalgiris Kaunas (5-6), whereas Olympiacos suffered their fifth defeat (6-5), but remained high in the standings.
