Baskonia played very well offensively (86 points) and claimed a crucial victory at home against Panathinaikos (86-77).

The Basques controlled the game from the opening tip (20-12), but the “Greens” improved their performance and cut the deficit to one (31-30). The hosts, though, went on a 13-2 run to close the first half in front by 12 (44-32).

In the third quarter, Baskonia were very productive offensively and scored 29 points to extend their lead to 18 (73-55).

Panathinaikos attempted to react and outscored their opponents 13-22 in the fourth quarter. Yet, they came up short and were defeated once again on the road.

Six players scored in double figures for the winners, with Tornike Shengelia leading the way with 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

Keith Langford was unstoppable for the losing squad and scored a game-high 33 points, as Nikos Pappas posted 16.

Baskonia improved to 3-6, whereas Panathinaikos dropped to 5-4.
