Abu Dhabi will host the EuroLeague Final Four in both 2027 and 2029, with the 2027 edition scheduled for May 28 and 30 at Etihad Arena, Euroleague Basketball announced Tuesday.
The decision extends the competition’s partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) after the emirate hosted the Final Four for the first time in 2025. The event will bring together the four teams competing for the EuroLeague championship at the end of the season.
The 2027 tournament will begin with the semifinals on Friday, May 28. The adidas NextGen EuroLeague Final and the senior competition’s championship game will take place on Sunday, May 30.
Abu Dhabi’s first Final Four in 2025 saw Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul win the title in front of a reported sellout crowd of 12,000 at Etihad Arena on Yas Island. Euroleague Basketball said tickets sold out within hours and that the event set new audience and engagement records across its broadcast and digital platforms.
Euroleague Basketball president Dejan Bodiroga said the 2025 event demonstrated the competition’s international appeal and thanked Abu Dhabi for its continued support.
CEO Chus Bueno described the renewed agreement as part of the league’s international growth strategy, combining established European basketball markets with major cities outside the continent.
The agreement also comes as EuroLeague expands its presence in the Middle East. Dubai Basketball joined the competition for the 2025-26 season, while Abu Dhabi hosted the inaugural Euroleague Basketball SuperCup in September 2026.
Euroleague Basketball reported that games in the region drew a cumulative television audience of 19.57 million viewers during the 2025-26 season through regional broadcast partner Dubai TV.
