Panathinaikos once again took advantage of their home court and defeated Barcelona (76-70) to end the Catalans’ five-game winning streak.
The “Greens” outscored their opponents 21-15 in the second quarter and were in front by nine at halftime (34-25).
Yet, the “Blaugrana” scored 25 points and cut the deficit to five at the end of the third quarter (55-50).
The hosts, though, endured the come-back of the visitors and edged their opponents to claim a crucial home win (76-70).
DeShaun Thomas and Stephane Lasme led the winners with 14 and 11 points, respectively, while Nick Calathes came close to an impressive double-double (nine rebounds, 12 assists), although he scored just two points, on 1/9 shooting.
Kyle Kuric had a game-high 17 points for the losing squad, which saw its five-game winning streak come to an end. Kevin Seraphin also posted 15 points and five boards.
Both teams now have identical records (5-3).
