The new head coach of Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Giannis Sfairopoulos, had an interview with the club’s show on YouTube, “Fast Break”.

Here is what the Greek coach said:

On taking over the Israeli powerhouse: “Many coaches dream of working for Maccabi, so I’m very thankful to be here.”

On the team’s fans and atmosphere: “I remember how difficult it is to play as an opponent against Maccabi, because of the tremendous noise that the fans make during the game, the players were not able to hear me during timeouts.

Now I hope the fans will make so much noise that they will be our sixth player.”

On Maccabi’s effort to make a come-back, after its poor start in the EuroLeague (1-6): “I believe in the staff and we will work together until the end. I know that each of us will do their best to succeed.”
