Barcelona power forward/center, Chris Singleton, spoke with Mundo Deportivo and referred to his decision to sign an one-year contract with the club.

Here is what the 28-year-old player said:

On his target with the Catalans: “I want to win. And I want to be sure that this Barça is ready to win. The last few years have not been good for Barça. I want to help change this and help change things. I want Barça to win again and I want there to be a nucleus of important players who will stay together for several years.”

On why he signed an one-year contract with the “Blaugrana”: “I’m inclined to stay at the club, but do not want to be part of a team that is constantly changing players, that will have six new players again next year. I do not want to be part of that, I want to be a part of an important nucleus of players, that will build a team and win titles.”

On his individual performance in Panathinaikos and Barcelona: “There we had Nick Calathes and a couple of more experienced players. It was a team with a nucleus of important players who have been playing together for a long time and only added two or three pieces each year. We were together for two years.

However, at Barca I think I have to take a step forward, I think I have to do more, I think I have to help this team to be at the top again, where it needs to be.”
