Olympiacos head coach, David Blatt, talked to the Israeli TV channel sport5 and referred to his target with the “Reds”, Vassilis Spanoulis and his negotiations with NBA teams.
The 59-year-old head coach said relatively:
On his target with the three-time EuroLeague champions: “I am ready for this challenge. It’s not something I am not familiar with. I am used to challenges and I am looking forward to it. I am waiting to see our fans, they are fascinating and I am excited that I will be part of this atmosphere. Just like in Maccabi and the NBA.”
On Vassilis Spanoulis: “Spanoulis is one of the best players in the history of the EuroLeague. He is a very special person, who is still hungry and wants to help his team return to the top. I am here to help him. We have a mix of young and experienced players in our roster.”
On his negotiations with NBA teams during the off-season: “I was disappointed and sad that I couldn’t return to the NBA. This was my main target.”
