Kestutis Kemzura is expected to become the interim head coach of Olympiacos, after the departure of David Blatt.
Kemzura confirmed the news to Donatas Urbonas of 24sek, admitting that the owners of the club have asked him to take over the “Reds” for the next two EuroLeague games.
“I think everybody felt the same. We were preparing some changes and thought we gonna have more time. But this is our life. We have to accept owners’ decisions. It was shocking but we have to go forward.
We joked that we survived even in harder times. Maybe I also didn’t do my part. It was not only his fault. However, head coach takes all the blame. But it just went so fast.
I have other problems right now, how to prepare the team in the best way before Friday’s game,” the Lithuanian coach said.
