Tornike Shengelia is close to renewing his contract with Baskonia until 2022, as the club’s official announcement is expected within the next few days.

The Georgian power forward’s current contract expires at the end of the 2019/20 season and the two sides have agreed to a two-year extension.

Shengelia joined the club in 2014 and has been the Basques’ undisputed leader in the past few seasons, while he was named in the All-EuroLeague and All-ACB First Team last year.

The 26-year-old player averaged 13.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 33 EuroLeague games with Baskonia last season.
