Jerry JohnsonThe season might have ended for Lietuvos Rytas only last week but the team has already completed its roster for the next season. The last two players to join the club are American point guard Jerry Johnson and Turkish center Cemal Nalga.

Johnson arrives from Belgium. He played for Charleroi Spirou for the last two seasons. Although he is still representing his team in the Belgian league finals, he has already signed the deal with Lithuanian champions. 28-year-old Johnson was an important part of Spirou as he averaged 13.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

According to Rytas management’s previous statements the club was looking for a point guard who would play 10-15 minutes. However, with the acquisition if Jerry Johnson the plans has changed. Johnson will the main point guard of Rytas next season.

Aron Baynes leaves Vilnius and will be replaced by 22-year-old Turkish center Cemal Nalga. Although the new center was expected to become a starter, this won’t be the case. Lrytas.lt reports that Nalga will be coming off the bench as a replacement of the 18-year-old Jonas Valanciunas who will be starting next season.

Nalga didn’t have the best season in his career with ALBA Berlin last season. He only played around 11 minutes per game. During the time on the court Nalga managed to score 3.5 points and grab 3.9 rebounds.
