Cavaliers re-sign Riley Minix

The Cleveland Cavaliers have re-signed forward Riley Minix to a two-way contract, just two days after waiving him to make room for Norchad Omier.

Minix cleared waivers Saturday night and quickly returned to Cleveland’s roster, replacing Tristan Enaruna, who suffered an ankle injury during Friday’s victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Enaruna is expected to miss significant time, prompting the Cavaliers to make another roster adjustment as they deal with injuries to several players.

The 6-foot-7 Minix originally joined Cleveland last season on a two-year, two-way contract. He has appeared in seven NBA games for the Cavaliers over the past two seasons.

Meanwhile, Enaruna has played 12 NBA games for Cleveland during the same period before suffering his latest setback.

With Enaruna sidelined, the Cavaliers decided to bring back Minix, who provides additional depth while the team manages its injury situation.

The move continues Cleveland’s recent changes to its two-way roster, with Minix returning shortly after the team initially released him.
