Armani Olimpia Milan have parted ways with head coach Giuseppe Poeta after the team opened its 2026-27 EuroLeague campaign with just one win in 10 games.
The Italian club announced the decision on Friday, November 6, confirming that assistant coach Marco Ramondino will take charge of the team on an interim basis.
Milan also thanked Poeta for his work as both an assistant and head coach, highlighting the commitment, dedication and enthusiasm he brought to the club.
During his time as head coach, Poeta won the Italian championship, the Italian Cup and the Italian Supercup. The club wished him success in his personal and professional future.
Ramondino will lead Milan in Sunday’s game, November 8, as the club begins its search for a new direction following a difficult EuroLeague start.
Milan currently sit 19th in the 20-team standings with a 1-9 record. They share that record with last-placed Baskonia, while their point differential stands at minus 85.
The team’s only victory came during a campaign in which it has struggled to find consistency across the opening 10 rounds. Moses Wright leads Milan in scoring with 12.1 points per game, while R.J. Cole averages 9.3 points and 3.1 assists.
Devon Hall contributes 9.2 points and a team-high 4.0 assists per game. However, Milan have not translated those individual contributions into results, with their 1-9 record leaving them near the bottom of the table.
The coaching change comes ahead of a demanding EuroLeague schedule. Milan will welcome Zalgiris Kaunas on Thursday, November 12.
