Former Boston Celtics guard Evan Turner dismissed claims that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were never friends, explaining that the two stars always showed respect for each other during his time with the team.
Turner, who played for Boston from 2014 to 2016, said he witnessed interactions between Tatum and Brown that contradicted suggestions of a personal conflict.
Although Turner left Boston before either player joined the team, he later spent time around both players and observed their relationship.
“The thing of them saying they were never really friends is crazy because I know for sure they had the utmost respect for each other.
“Like when you at least when I was around when you walk in, when they look around I’ve watched JT walk up to JB and shake his hand. I watched JT the vice versa… There’s no real beef here.
“There’s no real foundational beef that I thought and like no structural beef. It’s just two alphas walking on a different path, you know what I mean, in the same Serengeti.”
