The New York Knicks waived center Liam Robbins on Wednesday, September 16, one day after signing him to an Exhibit 10 contract.
The move gives New York another training camp roster adjustment as the defending NBA champions continue to operate under a strict second-apron constraint. The Knicks are currently about $3.2 million below the $222 million second apron with 15 players on standard contracts.
Robbins, 27, has spent most of his professional career in the G League after going undrafted out of Vanderbilt in 2023. He most recently played for the Rip City Remix during the 2025-26 season, averaging 8.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 32 games.
The 7-foot center shot 46.9% from the field and 30.0% from three-point range for Rip City. He also averaged 1.0 block and 2.6 personal fouls in 18.0 minutes per game.
Robbins previously appeared in 13 NBA games for the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2024-25 season, averaging 0.7 points and 0.9 rebounds in 4.5 minutes per game. He shot 25.0% from the field and went 0-for-2 from three-point range.
His strongest college season came at Vanderbilt in 2022-23, when he averaged 15.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 26 games while shooting 50.4% from the field and 36.5% from three-point range.
Robbins began his college career at Drake, where he became a key interior player during the 2019-20 season. He averaged 14.1 points and 7.1 rebounds in 34 games that year before transferring to Minnesota for the 2020-21 season.
The Knicks’ decision comes amid significant changes to their center depth. Mitchell Robinson, who started 16 games and appeared in 60 during the 2025-26 regular season, left New York for the Boston Celtics on a three-year, $47.4 million contract.
Andre Drummond was subsequently added on a one-year minimum contract to provide veteran depth behind Karl-Anthony Towns.
New York has continued to add players on non-guaranteed and training camp deals, including Bruce Brown, John Konchar, Drew Eubanks, Ochai Agbaji and James Wiseman.
The Knicks are coming off a 56-26 season in which they won their first NBA championship in 53 years. They went 16-3 in the playoffs, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 4-1 in the NBA Finals.
