Guerschon Yabusele’s latest career move has taken him back across the Atlantic, with the French forward trading the NBA for a new challenge with Panathinaikos.
The final installment of Summer With The Bear follows Yabusele through the period surrounding that decision, offering a look at how he approached free agency before committing to a multi-year contract with the Athens club.
Basketball was only one part of his considerations. Yabusele also weighed his everyday life, family priorities and preferred environment when deciding where he wanted to continue his career.
Now based in Athens, the 30-year-old is getting accustomed to his surroundings while preparing for another EuroLeague campaign.
His return also means switching back from the NBA game to a European system that places different demands on positioning, spacing and team play.
The documentary also shows that Yabusele has maintained a strong interest in French basketball.
He continues to follow the national team and keeps track of players with whom he has shared previous stages of his career.
His arrival at Panathinaikos therefore represents more than another transfer.
Yabusele enters the 2026–27 season with a new club and environment while balancing his ambitions on the court with the family and personal priorities that influenced his decision.
