Guerschon Yabusele is expected to receive strong interest from EuroLeague teams this offseason, and some speculation suggested that played a role in him declining his $5.8MM player option for 2026/27 to help facilitate a move to the Bulls.
However, the French forward/center made it clear his focus remains on staying in the NBA, according to K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network.
“My main goal is to stay in the NBA for sure,” Yabusele said.
Johnson also notes that Chicago values Yabusele’s work ethic and positive attitude, traits he showed when discussing his inconsistent role with the Knicks earlier in his career.
“I always say, if that was Coach’s decision, that was coach’s decision. I just respect it,” Yabusele said. “I worked hard and tried to be the best version of me. Nothing but love for New York.”
Yabusele has played 4 seasons for 4 teams, including the Celtics and Knicks. He has averaged 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in 208 regular-season games.
