The Detroit Pistons are reportedly positioning themselves as a potential facilitator in a blockbuster trade that could send Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat.

According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, Detroit has emerged as a possible third-team participant in negotiations, with the Pistons projected to receive Tyler Herro as part of the proposed framework.

Adding perimeter shooting has been one of Detroit’s primary objectives this offseason, and Herro would address that need while also providing another proven scoring option alongside the team’s young core.

The Pistons have been linked to several other offensive-minded players in recent weeks, including Kyrie Irving and Trey Murphy III.

They have also reportedly shown interest in Zach LaVine, Coby White and Isaiah Joe as they continue exploring ways to improve their backcourt and floor spacing.

Although White is still widely expected to remain with the Hornets, league chatter suggests he could become available under the right circumstances, making him another name to watch as the offseason unfolds.

As trade discussions around Antetokounmpo continue to develop, Detroit appears eager to capitalize on any multi-team opportunity that could help strengthen its roster without sacrificing its long-term rebuilding plans.
