The Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to explore roster upgrades this offseason after being eliminated by the San Antonio Spurs in the second round of the playoffs.

Minnesota is reportedly looking for ways to close the gap between itself and Western Conference contenders like San Antonio and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

One possible option could involve revisiting trade discussions for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Reports earlier this year indicated that Minnesota and the Milwaukee Bucks had preliminary conversations involving the superstar forward, though talks reportedly never advanced very far.

Milwaukee is now expected to more seriously consider potential offers for Antetokounmpo during the upcoming offseason.

Minnesota reportedly owns at least two first-round draft picks that could be included in a possible trade package.

The Timberwolves also have several large frontcourt contracts that could help match salary in any potential deal for the former MVP.
