Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard has agreed to a two-year, $44.2 million contract extension that includes a mutual option for the 2029-30 NBA season, according to ESPN.
The agreement was confirmed by Pritchard’s representatives, Austin Brown, CAA’s Co-Head of Basketball, and agent Max Saidman.
The extension keeps the 6-foot-1 guard under contract with Boston as the Celtics continue to make roster changes.
Pritchard’s extension is fully guaranteed for two years and represents the maximum amount he was eligible to receive under the applicable extension rules.
The 2024 NBA champion has developed into an important contributor for Boston, steadily increasing his responsibilities and production since entering the league.
His progress was recognized in 2025 when he earned the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award, establishing himself as one of the league’s most productive reserve players.
Pritchard continued building on that success last season, recording career-best averages of 17.0 points, 5.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game.
