Here’s Brian Taylor on the New York Nets’ off-court road strategy that helped them win the 1976 ABA Finals vs. the Denver Nuggets.

“They brought oxygen tanks. So every time that we had a break, we got taken out of the game, we were getting a little extra oxygen to deal with that Mile High City. It’s tough playing in Denver because the altitude. And so, I think it was the late Fritz Massmann who said, ‘Hey, we’re gonna bring some oxygen tanks to Denver for you guys and that would help you.’ And I think it really did help us.”
