The San Antonio Spurs will travel to FedExForum on Wednesday with multiple players sidelined. De’Aaron Fox is out due to low back tightness, while Luke Kornet is unavailable for right knee management. Harrison Ingram, David Jones Garcia, and Emanuel Miller are inactive as two-way players assigned to the G League.
Memphis Grizzlies enter the game with a notably longer injury list. Ja Morant remains out with a left elbow UCL sprain. Santi Aldama, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Zach Edey, and Scotty Pippen Jr. are all recovering from recent surgeries. Brandon Clarke is sidelined with a right calf strain, and Ty Jerome is unavailable with a left ankle sprain. Jahmai Mashack is doubtful due to the same ankle injury, and Javon Small is questionable with low back soreness. Jaylen Wells continues to sit out with a right great toe issue.
The absence of Fox removes the Spurs’ leading scorer, who averages 18.9 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game. Kornet’s 6.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest leave the frontcourt thin behind Victor Wembanyama, who leads the team with 24.3 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.
For Memphis, the injuries impact nearly every position. Morant, who averages 19.5 points and 8.1 assists, is the centerpiece of the offense, while Edey’s 13.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per game are crucial inside. Aldama and Clarke’s absence further limits scoring and rotation depth. Backup options like Rayan Rupert and Cedric Coward may see expanded roles to cover the void.
Recent form favors the Spurs, who have won their last two games, including a 136-111 victory over the Miami Heat. The Grizzlies have struggled, losing their past two at home by large margins. Previous matchups this season give San Antonio an edge, with the Spurs winning two of three meetings against Memphis.
The matchup tip-off is set for 8:00 PM ET.
