Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard revealed that he has not received any free meals at restaurants since returning to Toronto, despite his popularity among local basketball fans.
Leonard, who previously helped the Raptors win the 2019 NBA championship, discussed the subject during an interview with Kate, who asked whether restaurants had started offering him complimentary food.
Kate: “Are you eating for free?”
Kawhi: “Nah. No. Not yet.”
Kate then mentioned that stickers associated with the city’s support for Leonard were still displayed at local establishments, claiming they had remained there for years.
Kate: “The stickers are still up. They never left. They’ve been up for 10 years now.”
Leonard expressed surprise at the claim, explaining that he had already visited several restaurants since returning but had not experienced any special treatment regarding his meals.
Kawhi: “I don’t believe that. I got to see that. I haven’t yet. I’ve been to a few restaurants out here, but you know, nah, not yet.”
