Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards will not play in Tuesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns due to right knee soreness, the team announced (via Twitter).

The matchup carries playoff implications, as Minnesota currently holds a two-game lead over Phoenix for the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference, which guarantees a postseason spot.

According to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic (Twitter link), Edwards appeared to be “clearly laboring” during Sunday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road.

This will mark his 11th missed game of the season. Edwards has earned All-NBA Second Team honors in each of the past two years.

Minnesota may also be without Naz Reid, who is in contention for Sixth Man of the Year.

Reid is listed as questionable for the game due to a right shoulder contusion, according to the team.
