The Timberwolves announced in a press release that they have waived two-way guard Jules Bernard just days after signing him on Wednesday.

Despite the brief stint, the 26-year-old will still receive the remainder of his prorated two-way salary, effectively earning an additional bonus alongside his G League pay.

Bernard has spent this season with Minnesota’s G League affiliate in Iowa, where he has posted strong numbers, averaging 22.6 points while shooting 42.5% from the field, 34.6% from three-point range, and 80.4% at the free-throw line.

He has also added 6.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game across 34.5 minutes.

He previously attended Timberwolves training camp on an Exhibit 10 contract before being waived shortly ahead of the regular season.

Bernard’s only NBA experience came during the 2023/24 season on a two-way contract with Washington, where he appeared in 19 games and averaged 3.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.9 minutes per contest.

The transaction creates an open roster spot for Minnesota ahead of Wednesday’s deadline for signing players to two-way contracts.

Rocco Zikarsky and Enrique Freeman currently hold the team’s remaining two-way positions.
