Johni Broome underwent a partial meniscectomy on Saturday to address a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee.

The Philadelphia 76ers rookie is expected to be reevaluated in four weeks as part of his recovery process.

Broome, selected with the 35th pick in the 2025 draft, sustained the injury last Saturday while playing for the Delaware Blue Coats in a G League game.

After weighing multiple treatment possibilities, he ultimately chose surgery aimed at repairing the meniscus rather than removing it.

The 23-year-old center/power forward has appeared in 11 limited games with Philadelphia this season but has played a significant role with Delaware.

In 26 G League appearances, he averaged 21.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.2 steals across 32.8 minutes per game, shooting .463 from the field, .287 from three-point range, and .656 at the free-throw line.

A former standout at Auburn, Broome signed a four-year standard contract with Philadelphia.

His $2.15 million salary for next season is fully guaranteed, while his $2.5 million salary for 2027/28 is non-guaranteed, and the Sixers hold a $2.7 million team option for the 2028/29 season.
