The Minnesota Timberwolves have added guard Jules Bernard on a two-way contract, according to the NBA’s official transaction log, as noted by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The signing gives Bernard another opportunity at the NBA level after several productive seasons in the G League.

Bernard, a 6’6″ shooting guard who went undrafted out of UCLA in 2022, has spent most of his professional career developing in the G League.

Over the past three-and-a-half years, he has suited up for multiple affiliates, including the Motor City Cruise, Capital City Go-Go, Cleveland Charge, and most recently the Iowa Wolves.

This season, Bernard has been particularly impressive with Minnesota’s G League affiliate.

In 36 games, the 26-year-old averaged 22.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists across 34.7 minutes per contest while posting shooting splits of .429 from the field, .353 from three-point range, and .801 from the free-throw line.

Although this marks a new opportunity with Minnesota, Bernard has previous NBA experience.

During the 2023/24 season, he spent most of the year on a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards, appearing in 19 games and logging 149 total minutes at the NBA level.

The Timberwolves did not need to make an additional roster move to complete the signing.

The team created an opening on its two-way roster last week when Johnny Juzang was waived after reaching the 50-game active limit, leaving Bernard to join Enrique Freeman and Rocco Zikarsky in those slots.

Under the terms of his deal, Bernard can be active for up to 14 NBA games for the remainder of the regular season.

He would not be eligible for the playoffs unless Minnesota converts his contract to a standard spot on the 15-man roster.
