Buducnost VOLI Podgorica added depth into its paint while investing in its future by inking a three-year deal with center Zoran Nikolic, club announced on Tuesday.
Nikolic (2.11 meters, 20 years old) has spent last three season with Joventut Badalona of Spain, and has played with its second division affiliate CB Prat. Nikolic averaged 5.3 points and 4.2 rebounds last season, and has also appeared in three Spanish League games with Joventut.
Big man is considered one of the most talented players in his native Montenegro, and had been a member of all of its country’s youth national teams.
“I know Zoran since he was very young when I worked as youth teams coordinator in the federation”, said Buducnost head coach Vlado Scepanovic. “Nikolic is an interesting player, and we think we need a player like him. We said our team will combine youth and experience, and I hope Zoran will be a long-term pillar of a story we are trying to have here. I cannot wait for training camp to start.”
