Precious Achiuwa has welcomed the chance to spend the majority of his time at power forward with Sacramento, viewing it as a return to the role that best suits his game.

Speaking with Stefan Bondy of The New York Post, Achiuwa explained that the position aligns with the way he has always approached basketball and allows him to operate with greater comfort and confidence.

“This is how I’ve always played. All throughout high school, college. First couple years in the league in Toronto, that’s how I played. Mainly playing the four position, which is my natural position,” the player said.

He went on to point out that his most productive stretches have come when he’s been able to play that role consistently, particularly when it comes to how the offense flows around him.

“And that’s how I had a lot of success my first year in New York. Just the ball is able to move around a lot better. Guys are able to play the game with a sense of freedom better.

“Well, for me at least, I would say a better sense of freedom. Instead of just being pigeonholed.”

Achiuwa has played 6 seasons for 4 teams, including the Raptors and Knicks. He has averaged 7.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in 355 regular-season games.
