Terrell Owens, Hall of Fame wide receiver and cultural icon, reflected on his connection with Kobe Bryant during an interview with Brandon “Scoop B Robinson” on Scoop B Radio.
Owens highlighted the similarities in their approaches to training, recovery, and mindset, describing Kobe as one of the greatest athletes of all time.
Owens noted that he and Bryant often discussed recovery innovations such as cryotherapy and overseas treatments. “Before he passed, Kobe was doing those same things: being innovative, staying out in front of nutrition, and taking care of his body,” Owens said.
He added that Bryant’s use of forward-thinking techniques mirrored his own approach with hyperbaric chambers and advanced recovery methods during his NFL career.
The former Eagles star praised Kobe’s relentless work ethic and mental toughness. “Just being relentless and trusting the work… he put in countless hours before he even became a star,” Owens said. “That mentality, the injuries he played through, it’s top-tier dedication. To me, he’s top two—one of the greatest to ever pick up a basketball.”
