Ja Morant is set to meet with key figures from his inner circle in Europe this week as he processes the fallout from recent trade speculation, sources told Yahoo Sports.

That uncertainty intensified after the Memphis Grizzlies made him available in trade conversations last week, a move that reportedly caught Morant and his camp off guard and left them frustrated.

Morant, 26, has strong ties to Memphis and never requested a trade, but with the deadline approaching, his options are narrowing.

Asked about the situation while in Berlin, he offered a short response, “It is what it is. You don’t always get a say.”

In recent days, the Miami Heat have emerged as a team of interest. Their reputation for structure and player development resonates with Morant, as does his admiration for head coach Erik Spoelstra.

Miami’s veteran culture and Spoelstra’s ties to USA Basketball align with Morant’s long-term goal of competing in the 2028 Olympics.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings, and Milwaukee Bucks have also shown varying levels of interest.

Morant’s camp acknowledges his value is currently suppressed due to injuries, past suspensions, and a softer market for point guards.

Despite the noise, Morant remains focused on his recovery. Head coach Tuomas Iisalo said this week, “He’s back doing most things in practice, and you can see him getting closer to full speed.”

Morant has played just 18 games this season, averaging 19 points and 7.6 assists, and last appeared January 2. Memphis sits 10th in the West at 17–22 as questions surrounding his future continue to linger.
