Head coach David Adelman shared a brief but telling update on big man Nikola Jokic ahead of Friday’s matchup in Atlanta, as relayed by Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette.

Adelman explained that Jokic is itching to get back on the floor, even though his current rehab from a hyperextended left knee has mostly confined him to strength work rather than full basketball activity.

The coach emphasized that the situation is more frustrating than concerning, noting that Jokic’s competitive nature makes the downtime especially difficult.

“I get why the 65-game requirement exists, but when you’re talking about someone who’s shown up night after night for ten straight years, it feels a little unfair,” Adelman remarked.

“This isn’t a case of a player choosing rest days. This is a guy who plays whenever he possibly can. Sitting out isn’t part of who he is.”
