Rookie point guard Ryan Nembhard has emerged as a bright spot during an otherwise uneven season in Dallas, quickly earning the respect of teammates with his play and approach.

Despite standing just 5-foot-11, the Canadian guard has shown an ability to control games and impact winning, something that hasn’t gone unnoticed in the locker room.

According to Grant Afseth of Dallas Hoops Journal, teammates have been vocal in their praise, including Brandon Williams, who recently moved out of the starting lineup in favor of Nembhard.

“Ryan is nice – I’m not going to lie,” Williams said. He emphasized that Nembhard’s size hasn’t limited him. “He gets to the rim. People kind of look at his size, but he uses his size to his advantage.”

Williams also highlighted Nembhard’s ability to create for others and keep the offense flowing.

“He gets by people, he makes plays for others, and everybody on our team loves playing with him,” he said.

Even when Nembhard isn’t directly credited on the stat sheet, his influence is felt.

“Even if he’s not getting the assist, the ball is moving with him on the floor and everybody likes that,” Williams added, pointing to the guard’s unselfish style.

“We all see it and I think that’s what’s contributed to us winning.”
