The Sacramento Kings, who were widely viewed as the Golden State Warriors’ strongest competition for Jonathan Kuminga when he hit restricted free agency this past offseason, still have interest in the young forward, according to Marc J. Spears of Andscape.
Speaking on Monday’s episode of NBA Today, Spears noted that Sacramento hasn’t walked away from the idea of adding Kuminga, but their level of willingness to part with assets appears to have shifted since the summer.
Spears recalled the type of offer the Kings were prepared to make a few months ago, saying, “They threw (Malik) Monk at it before, and a first(-round pick).”
However, he also emphasized that Sacramento’s stance has changed, adding, “But I don’t think that first would be available anymore.”
Kuminga has played 5 seasons for the Warriors. He has averaged 12.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in 275 regular-season games. He has won 1 NBA championship.
