The Boston Celtics pulled off a 111-107 victory over the Orlando Magic on Sunday night at the Kia Center.
Jaylen Brown scored 27 points to anchor Boston’s offense, while Derrick White and Jordan Walsh hit critical 3-pointers in the final minute.
White finished with 21 points and connected from deep with 45 seconds remaining to give the Celtics a four-point lead. Walsh extended the margin to 110-105 with a 3-pointer with 13 seconds left.
Anfernee Simons scored 25 points in the first half, hitting three 3-pointers and contributing Boston’s first 14 points of the second quarter. His early scoring helped the Celtics open an 11-point advantage.
Orlando pulled even by halftime and led 85-83 early in the fourth quarter after Jalen Suggs scored on an inside runner.
The Celtics responded with a 13-0 bench run featuring Luka Garza and Hugo Gonzalez, giving Boston an 11-point cushion with just under six minutes remaining.
Paolo Banchero led the Magic with 28 points, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter despite foul trouble. Franz Wagner and Suggs each added 20 points.
Boston shot 39.4% from 3-point range overall and went 5-for-8 from deep in the fourth quarter. The Magic struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 7 of 30 attempts.
Luka Garza added 16 points and eight rebounds in just 17 minutes off the bench, while Walsh’s late 3-pointer proved decisive in the closing seconds.
Orlando cut the deficit to one with under a minute left, but the Magic were unable to complete the comeback.
The Celtics improve to 5-6, while Orlando falls to 4-6 with the loss.
Boston will visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, and the Magic return home to host the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday.
