The Golden State Warriors announced that guard De’Anthony Melton will undergo another medical evaluation in approximately four weeks as he continues his rehabilitation process.
Melton is still working his way back from the torn ACL he sustained early last season, an injury that cut his campaign short.
Earlier this week, the Golden State officially brought Melton on board with a two-year contract, signaling their long-term confidence in his ability to return to form.
The Warriors had originally signed him last season using the Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception, envisioning him as a versatile backcourt piece capable of contributing on both ends of the floor.
Before suffering his injury in mid-November, Melton had already carved out an important role in the rotation, even starting in two consecutive games before the setback.
Despite the significant injury, team officials are reportedly encouraged by his recovery progress to this point.
While optimism remains high about his eventual return, the Warriors are taking a deliberate and cautious approach, prioritizing his long-term health and effectiveness.
The plan is to ensure that Melton is fully cleared medically before rejoining the active roster, rather than rushing him back into action.
