Golden State Warriors guard De’Anthony Melton has intensified his individual and small group on-court workouts, the team confirmed. According to NBA insider Michael Scotto, Melton will be integrated into full team practice over the next two weeks and re-evaluated again in three weeks.

Melton is recovering from a torn ACL suffered early in the 2024–25 season, which prematurely ended his campaign. Before the injury, he had established himself as a versatile contributor, starting two consecutive games and carving out a key role in the Warriors’ rotation.

The Warriors officially signed Melton to a two-year deal this past offseason, signaling confidence in his long-term value to the team. He was initially brought in last season via the Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception, envisioned as a two-way guard capable of impacting both offense and defense.

Melton’s recovery is critical for Golden State as the team looks to maintain backcourt depth alongside Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, and Gary Payton II. His ability to contribute defensively and facilitate offense will add flexibility to the rotation once he returns.

With a planned medical evaluation in approximately four weeks, the timeline for Melton’s full return remains tentative. However, the organization is optimistic that, if progress continues, he could become a key contributor later in the season.
