Scoot Henderson has suffered a setback in his offseason preparation, as the young guard sustained a tear in his left hamstring during a workout earlier this week.

The Portland Trail Blazers announced that Henderson will immediately begin a rehabilitation program aimed at a full recovery.

His timeline for return to basketball activities is currently projected at four to eight weeks, depending on how his recovery progresses.

Henderson, who just completed his second NBA season, has been a key piece in Portland’s rebuilding efforts.

The 21-year-old floor general appeared in 66 games last year, averaging 12.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 26.7 minutes per contest.

His rookie contract followed his selection as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft after playing with G League Ignite, where he built a reputation as one of the most explosive young guards in the game.
