The Phoenix Suns announced Jordan Ott’s coaching staff for the 2025-26 NBA season. Jesse Mermuys, DeMarre Carroll, Brian Randle, Chaisson Allen, John Little, Mike Muscala, and Sean Dwyer join as assistants, with Mateen Cleaves as player development/leadership assistant.

Ott, hired in June, brings a fresh vision after a disappointing 36-win season. The Suns aim to rebound with a revamped roster and coaching team.

Mermuys, a Tucson native, brings 17 years of NBA assistant coaching experience. He elevated Orlando’s defense, achieving top-three Defensive Ratings in recent seasons.

Carroll, who led the Suns’ 2025 Summer League team, coached Cleveland to 64 wins last season. His 11-year NBA playing career adds veteran insight.

Randle returns to Phoenix after aiding their 2021 NBA Finals run. His recent stint with Washington bolsters Ott’s staff with familiarity.

Allen, retained from last season, coached the Wisconsin Herd previously. His G League experience strengthens player development efforts.

Little joins after leading the Valley Suns to a 20-14 G League record. His playoff success with the affiliate highlights his coaching prowess.

Muscala, a retired NBA veteran, starts his coaching career with Phoenix. His 548 career games bring on-court expertise to the bench.

Dwyer, formerly Loyola Chicago’s associate head coach, adds college experience. His background spans Cincinnati, Alabama, and Michigan State.

Cleaves, a 2000 NCAA champion, joins as player development assistant. His six-year NBA career and leadership experience enhance the Suns’ staff.

The Suns traded Kevin Durant and waived Bradley Beal this offseason. Jalen Green and Khaman Maluach headline their rebuilt roster.

Devin Booker, extended through 2029-30, remains the franchise cornerstone. His 11th season with Phoenix marks a historic milestone.
