Bradley Beal has finalized a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns, paving the way for him to join the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-year deal worth $11 million.

The Clippers utilized the remaining $5.35 million of their non-taxpayer midlevel exception to secure Beal’s services.

Several other franchises, including the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, and Los Angeles Lakers, had expressed interest in signing the veteran guard.

Prior to the buyout, Beal had two years left on his contract with the Suns, totaling approximately $110.8 million.

To facilitate the agreement, Beal agreed to forfeit at least $13.8 million, which allowed the Suns to apply the waive-and-stretch provision to reduce the financial burden of his contract.

This move also removes Phoenix from both the first and second salary cap aprons, providing them with greater roster and financial flexibility moving forward.

While Beal remained an effective contributor during his two seasons in Phoenix, the anticipated on-court synergy with stars Devin Booker and Kevin Durant didn’t materialize as hoped.

Additionally, his production no longer aligned with the value of a maximum-salary player.

In the 2024–25 season, Beal appeared in 53 games, averaging 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He is represented by agents Reggie Brown and Mark Bartelstein.
