Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker has signed a two-year, $145 million maximum contract extension to remain with the franchise through the 2029-30 NBA season. The agreement, finalized Monday night in Las Vegas, sets a new record for the highest annual salary in league history.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Booker and team owner Mat Ishbia met in person to conclude the deal. With this extension, Booker’s total remaining contract now spans five years and $316 million.

Drafted 13th overall by Phoenix in 2015, Booker has spent his entire 10-year career with the Suns. This marks his third contract extension with the team, further solidifying his role as the face of the franchise during an era when player movement has become common.

Booker, 28, has built an impressive résumé highlighted by four All-Star selections and three All-NBA Team honors. He became the Suns’ all-time leading scorer in February, surpassing Walter Davis’s franchise record.

This past season, the shooting guard averaged 25.6 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 46.1 percent from the field. He also delivered several standout performances, including a season-high 62-point outing in January against the Indiana Pacers and three separate 50-plus point games against the New Orleans Pelicans.

With this record-breaking deal, Phoenix reaffirms its vision of building a championship contender around Booker. The extension ensures the star guard will continue leading the team deep into the latter part of the decade.
