Domantas Sabonis has experienced a rollercoaster of moments since joining the Sacramento Kings, but he’s feeling hopeful about the team’s direction moving forward.
Speaking at his basketball camp in Roseville, Sabonis praised general manager Scott Perry’s efforts to reshape the roster and expressed excitement about the possibilities for the upcoming season.
“I think Scott’s done a great job so far, and he’s trying to turn things around just like everyone else,” he said, according to ABC 10’s Matt George.
While a number of changes have already taken place, Sabonis hinted that more moves could be on the horizon.
“A lot has changed; a lot’s probably still gonna change, so we’re just gonna wait and see ’til training camp,” he added.
One of the most significant additions has been veteran point guard Dennis Schröder, whose arrival fills the void left after the trade of De’Aaron Fox. Sabonis praised Schröder’s talent and ability to lead the backcourt.
“Right now, we have a starting caliber point guard. Dennis is very talented,” the player said.
Sabonis also highlighted the promising performances of the Kings’ young players during Summer League and mentioned hosting rookies Isaac Jones and Maxime Raynaud for workouts in Napa Valley.
