Svetislav Pesic, the head coach of the Serbian national basketball team, has announced the list of 17 players called up for FIBA EuroBasket 2025. Leading this preliminary squad is Serbia’s most prominent star and three-time NBA MVP, Nikola Jokic, from the Denver Nuggets.
Alongside Jokic, several other NBA players are expected to represent Serbia, including Nikola Topic of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Los Angeles Clippers, Nikola Jovic of the Miami Heat, and Tristan Vukcevic from the Washington Wizards.
The roster also features some of the biggest Serbian stars in the EuroLeague. Notably, Vasilije Micic, who recently signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv and became the highest-paid player in the league’s history, is included.
Other EuroLeague players on the list are Vanja Marinkovic (Partizan Belgrade), Aleksa Avramovic (Dubai BC), Marko Guduric (Olimpia Milano), Ognjen Dobric and Dejan Davidovac (both from Crvena Zvezda), Alen Smailagic (Virtus Bologna), Filip Petrusev (Dubai BC), Nikola Milutinov (Olympiacos Piraeus), and Balsa Koprivica (Bahcesehir Istanbul). The list also includes Stefan Jovic, currently a free agent.
To prepare for EuroBasket, Serbia will participate in two warm-up tournaments. The first is scheduled for August 9 and 10 in Cyprus, with the host nation joined by Greece and Israel.
The second tournament will take place on August 15 and 16 in Munich, where Serbia will face the Czech Republic in the semifinals, while Germany plays Turkiye in the other semifinal.
The Serbian squad will conclude its preparations with a high-profile friendly match at the Belgrade Arena on August 21, hosting Slovenia.
At EuroBasket, the team will compete in Group A alongside Estonia, Latvia, Turkiye, the Czech Republic, and Portugal, with all games held in Riga.
If Serbia advances to the round of 16, they will face one of the teams from Group B, which consists of Germany, Finland, Great Britain, Lithuania, Sweden, and Montenegro.
