Following an impressive showing during Summer League play, rookie Nique Clifford appears poised to make an immediate impact for the Sacramento Kings, according to Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee.
Clifford earned First Team All-Summer League honors, and his all-around performance has convinced team officials that he can contribute right away.
The organization sees him as a highly adaptable player, capable of filling minutes at either guard position or on the wing as a small forward – an asset in today’s positionless NBA.
In addition to Clifford, Anderson notes that both Isaac Jones and Devin Carter also made strong cases for expanded roles in the upcoming season.
Their development over the summer has boosted internal confidence that they can handle more responsibility within the rotation.
Meanwhile, rookie center Maxime Raynaud will head into training camp with a legitimate shot at securing the role of primary backup behind the team’s starting center, adding another layer of competition and potential depth to Sacramento’s frontcourt.
